all for all

"He hid it again, and rejoicing at his find went and sold all he had and bought that field." —Matthew 13:44<br>"When he found one really valuable pearl, he went back and put up for sale all that he had and bought it." —Matthew 13:46

Some people don't have much money or natural ability. It would take everything they have just to buy a field. Their total assets are only a few dollars.

Some people are like merchants who have a division of their corporation which searches for suppliers of  "really valuable" pearls. Some people have the personal assets so that if they liquidate their assets, they can write a check for several million dollars to buy "the pearl of great price."

The Lord invites all into His kingdom — poor and rich, talented and less talented. In our weakness, His power will again reach perfection (2 Cor 12:9). However, all of us must do one thing to enter His kingdom. We must give all to Jesus — all our time, energy, money, sexuality, future plans, securities, thoughts, feelings, fears, families, etc. We must give our whole lives to Jesus.

Jesus' arms are open and outstretched toward you. He is inviting you into His kingdom — no matter how poor and weak you are. Accept Jesus' invitation. Put your whole life into Jesus' nail-pierced hands. Give all.

Prayer:  Jesus, You gave Your life for me. I give my life for You.

Promise:  "Extol the Lord, our God, and worship at His footstool; holy is He!" —Ps 99:5

Praise:  While on a trip to repair the printer on which these booklets are prepared for press, Melinda was involved in a near-fatal high-speed accident. Her car was totalled (as was the printer!), but her life was miraculously spared. Jesus protected her from the oncoming traffic, and she was rescued from the wreckage with no injuries.
