"You can depend on this as worthy of full acceptance: that Christ came into the world to save sinners. Of these I myself am the worst. But on that very account I was dealt with mercifully, so that in me, as an extreme case, Jesus Christ might display all His patience, and that I might become an example to those who would later have faith in Him and gain everlasting life." 1 Timothy 1:15-16
The very fact that this pamphlet is in your hands may be a sign that you are called for a special mission in God's plan of salvation. You may be an Ananias, the believer chosen to convert Saul (Acts 9:1-19). This obscure man Ananias, whom we hear about only in this one place of the Bible, was used by the Lord to do one of the most important works in history. This conversion of Paul had an inestimable effect on world evangelization, Biblical revelation, and the development of the Church. You too may be called to convert to Jesus a billionaire, superstar, or celebrity. These conversions can turn the world around. How about converting the prime ministers of Russia and China? Or the leaders of Muslim countries? Or the leaders of Planned Parenthood? It would give great glory to God for more abortionists to repent publicly. There are countless world leaders who desperately need an intercessor (Ez 22:30). God's word states: "First of all, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for all men, especially for kings and those in authority" (1 Tm 2:1-2). If you obey this Scripture, you can be sure your work will not be in vain.
Jesus' disciples are called fishers of men and women (Lk 5:10). We are called and empowered to land big fish like Saul. However, it seems that we're usually talking about "the big one that got away" rather than the big one that we caught. Possibly we have not been more effective in catching the big fish because we have not made a serious commitment to that mission. We must seek God's will about "adopting" a particular leader or celebrity and then carry out, the following four-step plan based on the Scriptures.
- Repent. Get the "log cabin" out of your own eye before you deal with someone else's specks (Lk 6:42). Go to Confession.
- Pray and fast as the Lord leads. This is often quite extensive. Some demons can only be driven out by prayer and fasting (Mt 17:21; see also The Gospel of Life, Pope John Paul II, 100). Fast in preparation for Mass, the greatest prayer possible. Pray the Mass and intercede before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
- Be quiet and listen to the Lord daily.
- Obey the Lord boldly. Ananias risked his life when he approached Paul. You may also have to risk suffering.
If you have the faith to believe these Scriptures and persevere in overcoming the resistance of the evil one, you will see earthshaking conversions of world leaders. This will give glory to the Lord, lead people into His kingdom, and be one of the best things the Lord has ever given you to do in your life. Seek the Lord's will, adopt a leader, and obey.
P.S. Write to the address below and tell us the name of your adopted leader. We will pray and fast with you.
