in line for another miracle

"My daughter has just died. Please come and lay Your hand on her and she will come back to life." —Matthew 9:18

Jesus raised the daughter of Jairus from the dead immediately after healing "a woman who had suffered from hemorrhages for twelve years" (Mt 9:20). Miracles and healings are often like a staircase or a ladder. One step leads to another. Consequently, when the Lord does a miracle in your life, keep your eyes open for the next step. For example, after the miracle of the Annunciation, Mary was ready for the miracle of the Visitation. After the miracles of the earthquake and eclipse at the time of Jesus' death, Mary Magdalene was preparing for the next step, the ultimate miracle of Jesus' resurrection from the dead.

Remember that every Mass is a miracle. Bread and wine are miraculously transformed into the body and blood of Jesus. After each Mass, we should ask ourselves: "What's the next step, the next miracle?"

Christianity is based on the miracles of Jesus' Incarnation, saving death, and glorious Resurrection. In Christ, we move from miracle to miracle all the way to heaven. So step right up and receive another miracle.

Prayer:  Father, give me the faith to move mountain ranges (see Mt 17:20).

Promise:  "I will espouse you in fidelity, and you shall know the Lord." —Hos 2:22

Praise:  Shortly after Cindy made the decision to live for Jesus, she saw the miraculous deliverance of a loved one from an abusive situation closely followed by another miraculous deliverance from an addiction to cigarettes.
